Who we are

DoDiversity was founded by Martin van Engel and Brian Doornenbal. Together we combine practical experience in diversity and inclusion, scientific methods, and technical expertise to build tools that work.

How we work

Our advisory work is our R&D

We started as a consultancy. We did research, gave workshops, guided organisations. We still do. But along the way, we noticed that the instruments we built for our work were useful for others too. LeadershipFacts started as an internal measurement tool. ImpactLens emerged from a research project. Rapflections from community work.

Now we're developing those tools further. Every study we do makes them better. Every organisation that works with them delivers new insights.

Method

Mixed methods

We work with mixed methods. That means we combine numbers with stories. Quantitative data reveals patterns. Qualitative depth shows what's behind them.

We've developed proprietary methods specifically designed for research on inclusion and diversity. MODI is an interview method that limits socially desirable answers. ThemaVerkenner lets participants determine what's important, rather than the researcher deciding in advance.

Our approach is scientifically grounded and practically useful. Every study ends with a path forward.

Platform

The Culture

DoDiversity builds tools for The Culture — a broad, multidisciplinary field encompassing music, dance, fashion, religion, digital creation, entrepreneurship, gastronomy, and spoken word. It's characterised by continuous renewal through recombination of styles, stories, and identities.

For policy, this field remains difficult to define. That's why we offer working definitions, research data, and impact measurements through ImpactLens. Frameworks that support without constraining.
